I’ve compiled a little list for parents of toddlers, parents of teens and the very blessed parents of both toddlers and teens.  This is just a little something I came up with after feeling the frustration of raising teens and missing the days of mothering toddlers.  This does not suggest that toddlers are better than teens.  Just different.  See if this list rings true in your parenting journey…

Toddler:
Toddler wants to be held in your arms
Toddler tells you about everything
Toddler draws you pretty pictures
Toddler talks to you when you’re on phone
Toddler sits in a car seat
Toddler wakes up early
Toddler lets you teach them things
Toddler needs your help
Toddler jumps for joy when you pick them up from pre-school
Toddler says “I love you” often
Toddler stage is when a parent feels needed & loved
Priceless treasure
Teen:
Teen keeps you at arm’s length
Teen avoids telling you about things
Teen texts you (may use pretty emoji)
Teen can’t hear you when using phone
Teen sits in the driver’s seat
Teen sleeps until noon
Teen likes to teach you a thing or two
Teen could use your help
Teen would rather you not come inside the school
Teen might say it
Teen stage is when a parent would like to feel needed & loved
Priceless treasure
