EVERY day is NOT Mother’s Day.  And not EVERY Mother’s Day is a GREAT day for ALL moms.  Last week, I wrote an open Mother’s Day Greeting on channelmom.com.  This is what it said:
“A DIFFERENT Mother’s Day Greeting…. for those moms who are grieving the loss of a child… or the loss of their own mom… for moms who are single… or struggling… or forgotten.  YOU ARE ALL PRECIOUS… and I appreciate all you do to serve others in your life.  God notices.”
Do you know why I wrote that?  Because Mother’s Day is painful for lots of moms…. mostly because a lot of moms have suffered loss.  Some have watched children die.  Others have experienced miscarriage.  Some have lost a spouse — through death or divorce.  Others have lost their own moms.  But, even if it’s not the death of a child or the death of their own mom, maybe, it’s a lost relationship with their child or their mom.  Maybe they no longer speak.  Maybe they no longer like each other. And then, there are the moms who nobody thanks or the moms who are forgotten and don’t get Mother’s Day cards…. or the moms who feel LOVED on Mother’s Day, but NOT the other 364 days of the year.
I just want to acknowledge that Mother’s Day only comes once a year… and whether it’s hard or whether it’s easy… mothers must still mother the other 364 every year.  So we at The Channelmom Show try to remember mothers EVERY day… all 365.  To say “thanks.”  Or, “how can we help?”  Or, “here’s a little encouragement… and a tidbit of advice.”  We are here for moms 365 days a year, simply because we CARE about moms and families.

Can I get an “amen?”
